ALDI - TRADE UP IN QUALITY BUT NOT IN PRICE

It’s only a few years when Asda was considered a low price – low quality wine merchant and now they still have the low price but offer many quality wines. Now you should be thinking Aldi who are selling award winning wines at very reasonable prices. Your guests will be impressed by these 3 quality wines which will not break the bank.

Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG - Aldi £6.99
Prosecco di Conegliano-Valdobbiadene is the DOCG title given to the finest Prosecco wines made in the Veneto wine region of north-eastern Italy. This a fine example of Prosecco which won a silver medal at the 2012 Wine & Spirit International challenge. Why not mix this with a little peach juice to make a classic Bellini.

Baron Amarillo Rioja Reserva 2006. – Aldi £5.99
Don’t let the bright labelling put you off this award winning wine which is lush, rich and dominated by red fruits that lead into hints of blackcurrant and cherry. Perfect with lamb or turkey the 2006 was a very good year for Rioja.

South African Fairtrade Pinotage 2011 – Aldi  £4.99
Pinotage is traditionally a full bodied red wine with a touch of dry spice. This Fairtrade offering is slightly smoky and earthy, with a juicy and luscious flavour of dark berry fruits and delicate spice.
